All Tesla cars have a stunning acceleration when compared to any ICE vehicle. A hatchback from the company would naturally be hot, both in terms of performance and desirability, but will we ever see one? Even in Europe, where compact hatchbacks are still the leaders, they are losing ground to SUVs.

Tesla is currently focused on the US and China. Ask Volkswagen if it wants to sell the ID.3 in the US. It won’t because demand would be too low, according to VW Group of America CEO, Scott Keogh. With Gigafactory 4, if hatchbacks are still a relevant market in Europe, we may see a smaller Tesla. But that will take at least four more years, if not longer than that. Considering current market trends, that is very unlikely.
