Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Grabs 100% Of Panamera Sales In Finland

JUN 19 2018 BY MARK KANE 6

In Finland, 100% of Porsche Panamera sales during January-May were plug-in hybrid versions. That’s a sign of times, is it not?

We already heard that theย majority of Panamera sales in Europe were the PHEV version in Q1, but 100% is a whole new level of achievement.

In fact, some 73% of total Porsche sales (70 out of 108) in Finland were plug-in hybrids.

If the response is similar in other bigger markets, the German manufacturer will be strongly encouraged to continue its electrification push.

Also, in the U.S., sales of Panamera PHEV right from the start hit 20-30% of Panamera total sales in April and May.

Soon, Porsche’s first pure electric, the Taycan (previously known as the Mission E) will hit the streets. If priced right, we think it has the chance to become a leader in Porsche’s lineup.

If I coud to buy a Panamera, I would buy the hybrid too.

With the diesel gone the Hybrid is the next cheapest option to fuel the car.

As a Finn Im not exactly surprised especially when you consider that 100% of the listed panameras newer than 2018 are in fact hybrids ๐Ÿ˜€

That’s a good point. ๐Ÿ˜€

Sure, why not, taxes are insane for non-hybrids in Finland!

People buy these just to go around the insanely steep CO2 tax. No one charges them. PHEV = gas car.
