In early October, the city of Palermo (in cooperation with Amat, Renault and Enel) launched an electric car sharing service with 24 Renault ZOE.

This is the largest project in southern Italy with plug-ins.

ZOEs are available in five of the city’s carparks (three to be added later this year):

  • Piazza Massimo
  • Piazzale Ungheria
  • Via Malta
  • Piazza Ignazio Florio
  • Viale della Libertà

22 kW 3-phase charging stations can refresh range in about an hour to 80%.

“The Palermo electric car-share service is part of Amat’s Demetra project, which aims to reduce traffic in the city centre by means of an integrated car-sharing platform. Under the partnership, Enel installed sixteen 22 kW charging stations at strategic points throughout the city. The choice of an electric vehicle contributes to preserving the artistic and cultural Arab-Roman heritage of Palermo, listed as a UNESCO world heritage site in July 2015.”

“Electric cars make an excellent choice for car-share services, and Renault ZOE serves in a number of other car-share systems across the planet, including Comos in Malaysia, E-car Club in the UK and LetsGo in Denmark.”

My daughter likes the look of the Zoe’s face, does anyone happen to know if you can replace the Leaf’s front end with the Zoe’s? Given the price of a used Leaf, if it’s a straight sheet-metal/paint replacement, she thinks she would do it if it is possible, but I’ve not heard just How similar that they are (or even if it is the Zoe that is the same car).

Much thanks!

The ZOE and the Leaf are two different cars, so I don’t think doing that would be easy if at all possible.
