Nissan LEAF, for yet another year, was the best selling all-electric car in Europe.

The Japanese company announced that ~ 15,000 LEAFs were sold in Europe 2014, which is more than 30% up year-over-year. 15,000 is also half of the 30,200 LEAFs in the U.S., and probably slightly more than in Japan (we are still waiting on those sales results).

On top of that comes 2,300 Nissan e-NV200s sold in Europe alone.

“The Nissan LEAF continues to lead the electric vehicle segment globally and sold more than 15,000 cars in Europe – more than a 30% increase compared to 2013. Globally LEAF owners have now driven a staggering one billion kilometres since the car’s launch in 2010. It is also the #1 model among Nissan customers with 97% saying they would recommend it.”

The e-NV200 total amazes me. It has only been on the market for half a year.

So 45,000 worldwide for 2014. What are the 2014 worldwide sales for the Tesla Model S?

Adrian

Are you kidding , 50.000 was in 2013.

2014:
30.000 US
15.000 Europe
~ 14.000 Japan (wihtout December)
& some in Rest of world = 60.000 !!

Tesla Model S is about 32.000

And 7369 out of 15000 European Leaf’s was sold in a country with less than 5 million people- Norway
ref: http://www.gronnbil.no/statistikk/ in the sales figures section.

With Similar market penetration all over Europe, the should sell 350.000+ Leaf’s per year – so the potential is sky high 🙂

That number must be for all Leafs ever sold in Norway. For 2014 it’s around 4800, which is a very large part too but not that large.

The e-NV200 is a good candidate for Nissan to bump up to 150 – 200 mikes range, first, due to its flatter Pack Design.

Micke Larsson

As far as I know it’s exactly the same battery pack design and exactly the same drivetrain as the Leaf. So basically just a Leaf with a different shell.

hopefully when the 2nd gen leaf comes out they will also release the 2nd gen nv-200 in America

2nd gen nv-200? They just started making the first gen. I want one, by the way.
