Nissan LEAF Lights a Christmas Tree
DEC 24 2013 BY ERIC LOVEDAY 4
Nissan’s LEAF-to-home system has been put to use this holiday season to light a Christmas tree in Tokyo.
No, this is not an efficient or green method for lighting a tree (unless, that is, the power within the battery originated from solar), but its Christmas, so we thought we’d share with you what Nissan has done to light a tree over in Japan.
If you’re not on solar and are still thinking of lighting your Christmas tree in this way, the more efficient option would be to just plug it in to the wall socket, but that doesn’t make for such a grand display now does it?

Are you sure the Leaf is powering the tree? I thought it was Santa’s ride, and he was recharging after dropping off some presents!
Oh Christmas Tree, oh Christmas Tree
Being lit by tech-nol-ogy.
That Nissan Leaf, is Fugly though.
Carp Mouth and Diaper Butt, have got to go.
Oh Christmas Tree, oh Christmas Tree
Being lit by V2G, just for me.
Headlights so huge, surely they’re just for show?
Why Nissan did that, I’ll never know.
Oh Christmas Tree, oh Christmas Tree
Maybe soon they’ll re-style thee?
