Tesla Model 3 set a new monthly record of over 33,000
March brings us strong plug-in electric car sales results. EV Sales Blog estimates 224,335 sales and 53% growth rate (year-over-year), at a market share of 2.8%. Half of those sales were noted in China.
Most of the plug-ins were all-electric (74%), which are growing very fast at 77% year-over-year.

After three months of 2019, sales stand at almost 496,000 and 2% market share. Assuming further growth, it could increase to 3.5 million in 2019 (compared to 2 million in 2018).

The Tesla Model 3 was the best-selling model for the month, for the quarter and by the way, set a new monthly record of 33,187 (50,900 YTD). Those are absolutely outstanding results (more than two times better than the second best YTD), especially when we consider the start of deliveries in Europe and China, which extends the delivery path.
Only two Chinese models were able to also a achieve five-digit result: BAIC EU-Series (13,057 and 19,417 YTD) and BYD Yuan (10,021 and 24,446 YTD).
As you can see, the table is dominated by blue names, which means all-electric cars.
