Motorcyclist Magazine recently pitted the two California-made electric motorcycles, 2017 Zero DSR and Alta Redshift SM, against each other in a drag race.

The bikes are quite different and, as you can see in the video, performances differs dramatically. In the early stage of the race, Alta Redshift S takes the lead, but the Zero DSR ends up winning the quarter mile.

  • 2017 Zero DSR: 12.95 seconds @ 102.63 mph
  • Alta Redshift SM: 13.90 seconds @ 80.47 mph

"Numbers are one thing, actual performance is another. We thought since we take a lot of bikes to the strip to see how fast they go, we’d show you what it looks like when they face off. Keep in mind that the numbers we’re showing are recorded via GPS tracking with one rider—the video is just to show you what it looks like. Got a face off you want to see? Drop it in the comments section and we’ll try to make it happen."
