Germany just set a new plug-in electric car sales record in March, maintaining 2% market share both for the month and for the first quarter.

In total, 6,810 passenger plug-in cars were registered last month (up 52% year-over-year), reaching a new high above the 6,290 sold in November and 6,288 in December.

  • BEVs: 3,792up 73% at 1.1% market share
  • PHEVs: 3,018 up 32% at 0.9% market share

More than 17,500 plug-in electric cars were sold in the first three months of 2018 in Germany at average market share of 2%.

The best selling all-electric car in March was the Volkswagen e-Golf (534), which beat Renault ZOE (523), BMW i3 (459 incl. 137 REx), smart EQ forfour (457) and smart EQ frotwo (454).

Nissan LEAF registrations hit 346 in March. Also, Tesla noted decent month with 304 Model S and 124 Model X, but below 2017's result for March of 457 and 212, respectively.
