In total, some 1,834 plug-ins were sold in March (up 123%) at 4.3% market share and hitting 4,509 YTD.
Official data indicates that most of those sales are all-electric cars - 3,945 in the quarter (up 136%) at 2.9% market share. Plug-in hybrids are not so popular after the phasing out of generous tax the incentives a few years ago.
The best selling models in March happened to be the Tesla Model S (new record of 588), Nissan LEAF (299), and Tesla Model X (283).
Tesla Model S is also #1 YTD, while the LEAF moved up to #4.
It's expected that in 2018 some 15,000 all-electric cars will be sold in the Netherlands, compared to nearly 8,000 in 2017.
