New registrations of passenger plug-in electric cars in Europe increased in February by 39% to some 22,417 units.

The market share amounted to roughly 1.9% for plug-ins.

New registrations should grow even faster in March and the following months thanks to the new Nissan LEAF, as indicated by both preliminary data in Norway and manufacturers sales data for all of Europe.

However, during the first two months, the market leader is Renault ZOE, which replaced the Volkswagen e-Golf in the #1 spot from January.
