We so often see the Tesla Model S smoking all comers, but not the Model 3.
That's likely because its rather new and its performance is not nearly on par with the Model S P100D, but that doesn't mean the Model 3 lacks the racing pedigree.
In fact, when matched up against one of its closest competitors, the Opel Ampera-E (cousin to the Chevy Bolt), the 3 shows it has what it takes to capture an easy win. Within just a couple of seconds, the Tesla Model 3 is already seen pulling away from the Opel Ampera-E.
According to the video uploader, the Model 3 hit 62 MPH in 5.7 seconds. The Ampera-E need 7.3 seconds to complete the 0 to 62 MPH dash.
The Model 3 officially runs from 0 to 60 MPH in 5.5 seconds, though it's been tested a bit quicker. Meanwhile, the Chevy Bolt, which topped this quickest affordable car comparo, accomplishes the feat in 6.5 seconds.
Road results will always vary though.
