
BMW i + BMW iPerformance + MINI PHEV sales in the U.S. – December 2017
BMW Group closes the year 2017 in the U.S. with its second best monthly result of plug-in electric car sales - 2,792 (up 59%) and up 31.2% for the year.
Plug-ins accounted for 7.2% of all BMW and MINI sales in December.
For the full year, BMW increased deliveries by 31.2% year-over-year to 21,208. On average, 6.0% of total sales were all-electric or plug-in hybrids.
In 2016, 16,107 plug-in sold accounted for only 4.4% of total BMW/MINI sales.
Considering the further expansion of the lineup in 2018, BMW might see nearly one tenth of its business in the U.S. as plug-in sales.
