Plug-in electric car sales in Europe continue to grow by more than a half year-over-year in November, beating overall market growth (+5.9%) and even the hot SUV segment (+32%).

In total, some 29,489 plug-in electric cars were sold last month - enough to be confident that December will bring us a new annual record.

After eleven months, more than 272,000 plug-ins were delivered in Europe.

The three best selling models for the month of November and for the year are:

  • #1 Renault ZOE 1,887 (28,030 YTD)
  • #2 BMW i3 – 1,932 (18,490 YTD)
  • #3 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV1,835 (17,556 YTD)
Tesla Model S and Model X were at 1,531 (12,916 YTD) and 1,100 (10,517 YTD) respectively.
