Live from Paris with the Electric GT Tesla race car and Bcomp

Electric GT Championship decided to use top of the line Tesla Model S P100DL sedans (data specs here) for its all-electric car racing series.

However, these won't be standard issues Teslas, these Model S cars will be some 1,100 lbs (500 kg) lighter, thanks to removing all the unnecessary equipment, using racing parts and lightweight parts like biocomposites.

It's estimated that the racing version will dump about 20% of the weight from around 5,000 lbs to 3,900 lbs (1,770 kg).

The topic of new lightweight biocomposite components manufactured by Bcomp was recently discussed in Paris by Leilani Münter, Electric GT racing driver.

EGT Tesla V2.0:

  • 500 kg lighter
