Recently, we have been getting reports of Tesla Model X's arriving throughout the world. Canada received its first vehicle a few weeks ago, and this week Mexico received a test model to premier at the opening of six new Superchargers. Now, Beijing joins the list which will continue to grow in the coming weeks.
China is the first country in Asia to receive Model X. 400 Guests gathered at the Diaoyutai state guesthouse in Beijing to celebrate its arrival. The highly anticipated SUV appeared on stage carrying a family of 7 and their luggage.
Tesla Model X Interior With Seating For Seven
Four hundred invite-only guests arrived at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse to share in the welcoming of the first Model X in Asia. The venue is a historic hotel in Beijing that is often used to host foreign government leaders. Tesla invited the guests for the upscale event.
China's market for Tesla is growing rapidly and is the company's second largest, following the U.S. The country has seen a 300 percent spike in growth this year alone.
Tesla Model X
In February, Tesla announced that deliveries in China would be around the first quarter of 2017. Robin Ren, Tesla's VP of Asia Pacific, said that Tesla is more than six months ahead of schedule. He said:
“Stimulated by the impressive number of orders of Model 3, we are now making a new capacity plan.”
