The BMW-Brilliance Chinese joint venture has revealed its latest plug-in vehicle.
Called the Zinoro 60h, this China-only SUV is based off the long wheelbase BMW X1, but it features a full plug-in hybrid powertrain.
As BMWBLOG explains:
"The new Zinoro 60H is the production version of the Zinoro Next concept, based on the new long wheelbase BMW X1 Li."
"The BMW X1Li, debuted at the Beijing Auto Show. The X1 Li is a China-only long-wheelbase variant of the BMW X1 SUV. Wheelbase is extended with 11 centimeters to create more space for the passengers in the rear. The X1 Li is also manufactured by BMW-Brilliance."
BMW-Brilliance claims that the Zinoro 60h, with its 136 HP, 1.5-liter turbo gas engine and 15 HP electric motor, can accelerate from 0 to 62 MPH in 7.6 seconds. Electric-only range is listed at 60 kilometers (37 miles), but that's surely on a very optimistic test cycle.
"A full electric version of the 60H is expected to be up next for Zinoro."
"The Zinoro 60H will be available for sale everywhere in China and will be eligible for the full set of NEV subsidies which can add up to 90,000 yuan or almost $14,000."
Pricing has not yet been announced.
