Quick growth of plug-in hybrid sales in France slowed in May, mainly due to lowered incentives - from €4,000 to €1,000 (plus €2,500 available for scrapping old diesel cars).
New passenger PHEV registrations in France amounted to 435 units - which is just about 2% higher compared to last year, this after months of rapid growth between 100 and 200%.
Market share for PHEVs now stands at 0.25% (compared to about 1% for BEVs).
The most popular model in May (over mostly other German plug-in hybrids), is the Volkswagen Golf GTE, with a strong second place for Volvo XC90 T8 Twin Engine - both vehicles where the base price is not considered a determining factor in a purchase decision:
