The 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV was star of one of the latest episodes of "Talking Cars" with Consumer Reports.

GM's flagship could be (and for many probably will be) the answer for the question: What if you want the range of a Tesla, but don't have Tesla-kind of money?

While the wait for the upcoming Tesla Model 3 is year (or more) away, the Bolt EV is only a couple days, or hours away from its first delivery.

The Bolt EV offers 238 miles of EPA range and according to CR, is a pretty nifty offering.

"Turns out the first relatively affordable long-range electric car isn't from Tesla; the Chevy Bolt beats the Tesla Model 3 to market.

We found the Bolt to be enjoyable and practical, but wonder if buyers will be turned off by its dowdy styling."
