Tesla CEO Elon Musk
First Round Capital initiated a recent survey of 700 technology company founders. The point of the survey was to hear from those "in the know", about who they believe is currently the industry's top entrepreneur. Tesla CEO Elon Musk was the top choice, by a landslide. First Round explained:

“We launched State of Startups to capture what it means to be an entrepreneur. We asked the leaders of venture-backed companies about everything from the fundraising environment to their working relationships with their co-founders to their office’s price per square foot.
Once again, we asked founders to write in which current tech leader they admire the most and we tallied 125 names. The Tesla and SpaceX leader held firm at the top spot (23%)."
Next in line was Amazon's Jeff Bezos, at 10%, and Mark Zuckerberg, of Facebook fame, at 6%. Steve Jobs was in the four spot with 5%.
The survey offered no place for the participants to explain their choices. It would be interesting to know what these "top industry moguls" considered to be the most important traits, and why they chose Musk. However, it's not really a surprise, with the amount of attention that Tesla and Musk are receiving as of late. It would be a fallacy to say that he isn't innovative, a risk taker, or fully-invested and highly driven.
Tesla was finally able to report a profitable quarter, and it seems every few weeks the company has another major, ground-breaking announcement. In the grand scheme of things, Tesla is still in its early days. In the next few years, when we see the completion of the Gigafactory, solid plans in Europe for Gigafactory 2, the delivery of 400,000+ Model 3's, and production numbers hit a half million or more a year, Elon Musk and Tesla's impact will be epic and world-changing.
