Nissan LEAF sales in Japan once again increased compared to 2015 (and for the 9th month in a row), but we have to note that the model is now showing some fatigue for the first time, as the 1,014 sales during the month (up 21% y-o-y) was far behind the best years found in 2013 and 2014 (1,756).
Nissan LEAFs in Japan
Perhaps Nissan's home market of Japan has finally caught on that an upgraded LEAF is incoming, or perhaps Nissan is also now actively managing the current inventory situation lower in the country, as it has been in the US this year.
With 12,134 sales in the first nine months, the LEAF still has a chance to set an annual sales record (currently 14,177 in 2014), so the results are still pretty good overall for 2016.
Cumulative LEAF sales in home market stands at 69,833.
