BMW Group and Sixt SE celebrated their fifth anniversary of the DriveNow premium car sharing service, by launching the program into its 10th city in Europe - Brussels.

As of today, DriveNow has more than 600,000 customers, and 150,000 of them have had a chance to try out electric cars for the very first time.
BMW notes that EVs joined the DriveNow fleet in the summer 2013, and are used in almost all of the cities.
Currently some 20% of the entire fleet is electrically powered and the cumulative mileage has exceeded three million kilometers (or 1.86 million miles).
According to BMW, the average journey for participants has been between 8 and 15 kilometres (5-10 miles) and lasts 20 to 40 minutes.

Speaking on the occasion of DriveNow’s fifth anniversary, Peter Schwarzenbauer, BMW AG management board member responsible for MINI, BMW Motorrad, Rolls-Royce, Aftersales and Mobility Services said:
