Reservation pace will be Ludicrous?
We are just days ahead of Tesla Model 3 unveiling, and the opening of the online reservations book scheduled for March 31 8.30pm PT (Pacific Time).
Because we are nearly two years from the first deliveries, expected in late 2017 on the West Coast, there could be pretty decent race to get the first reservations of the car.
For all those who are seriously interested in the first Tesla Model 3s, some important new information (via Teslarati) be that reservations will begin on 10.00am local time.
Originally, Tesla stipulated a 10am Pacific time opening for reservations, but new "how to" instructions sent out recently by Tesla (full recent mailer below), and online instructions, have dropped the "Pacific"/timing language completely. This apparently was in response to inopportune timing of everyone being on California time and complaints of would be owners.
Consumers will be able to make reservations both online as well as in stores on March 31, but the online sales window has been consistent all along at 8:30 PM (PT).
As we now understand the process through a series of Tesla press releases, blogs and emails - Tesla owners with highly optioned cars (as per CEO Musk) will receive first priority, followed by public premium orders; a hierarchy that will be followed as Tesla opens ~5 specific regions in order for delivery, starting with California/West Coast of the US in late 2017.
