The vehicle in question was a 1905 Woods Electric Queens Victoria Brougham, the only copy known to exist.

By the time the hammer had dropped, it had sold for DKK 632,500 (Danish Krone), or about $95,400 USD as reported by GizMag

As per auction site Bonhams:

"The car on offer is an extremely rare survivor. It is believed to be the only 1905 Woods Electric Style 214A Queen Victoria Brougham in existence.

The cab is removable for open-air touring and seats two passengers in close comfort when closed. The wheelbase is a short 73 inches, the advertised weight was 2,600 pounds and the silent top speed is in the region of 30 mph. The car has been fitted with a modern charging mechanism and lightweight batteries which provide a useful touring range. Due to its rarity and technical novelty, this 1905 Woods will provide a fascinating conversation piece in any collection, as well as insight into early electrical motoring."

Just as a point of interest surrounding when this car was built, electric vehicles were not a novelty item at all in the beginning of the last century.  By the time this particular vehicle rolled off Woods production line (which was capable of build about ~500 per year), over 35,000 were on US roads.

The Woods Motor Company ended up closing down in 1918, a victim of the more powerful and sturdier petrol vehicles; this was just two years after it produced its first gas-electric hybrid car, which were named "Dual Power" (U.S. Patent # 1244045).
