Luca de Meo, Audi’s sales and marketing boss, revaled to Autocar that their electric SUV e-tron Quattro, unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt IAA, will “cost about the same as a well-specced Audi A6”.
around £60,000 → €83,000 → $93,000
In the US, the price of the Q6 e-tron quattro (that's the confirmed name of production version), will be more like $83,000.
Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Audi's head of research and development said that "It's a concept car but it's very close to the production car." Very close to production for Audi means 3 years, as the Q6 e-tron quattro will be available in 2018.
Expected volume is claimed to be high, but we can't tell for sure yet...
“Audi will present an electric SUV in early 2018. The e-tron quattro concept provides a concrete foretaste of this,” confirmed Hackenberg, before later revealing, "We will use this car to introduce this technology to a bigger number of customers in the market. We'll fill one factory ." When asked of the scale of the plant he said, "I won't tell you about the size of the factory but it's a lot. It's not a small one."
