National Drive Electric Week started in 2011 as s National Plug In Day and expanded into a week long electric mobility celebration across the country with 178 confirmed events. As the ownership of electric vehicles expanded in the recent year so did the public interest. It is no secret each EV driver enjoyed speaking to curious public or offering friends and coworkers a chance to drive their car.

Drive Electric Week provides a fantastic opportunity to spread the EV word even further. Majority of the events around the country are designed to showcase the vehicles and educate the public on why they will never buy another petrol engine vehicle. This includes EV owners speaking about their experiences and in some cases even offering rides.

Georgia will kick off the celebration on September 12th with the 4th annual Atlanta Drive Electric Week at Atlantic Station. Big focus this year is on Georgia Power. Through the "Get Current, Drive Electric" initiative, Georgia Power has become a very big part of Electric Vehicle movement. As an anchor sponsor (along with Nissan NA) attendees can expect a fun filled event with prizes and giveaways. Georgia Power will showcase their new charging infrastructure along with information on $250 EVSE rebate and 'Plug In Electric Vehicle Rate' (PEV) plan.
