Tesla Tilburg Assembly Plant
Tesla Motors has put out a video walkthrough of their Tilburg Assembly facility.
The piece centers around the assembly (or re-assembly if you will) of a Model S.
The factory as it stands today, was set up mostly as a requirement to avoid certain additional taxes added to the EV if it was shipped complete from the company's Fremont facility.
As such, several completed components are now crated separate to the car in the US, then shipped to the Netherlands to be put through final-final assembly in a bit of a redundant step, but there is also additional quality control checks that occur here.
The Tilburg plant also features Europe's "largest indoor test track" to ensure the EVs are functioning properly before delivery into the EU.
