Renault sells its two seat Twizy in both an Urban 45 and Urban 80 trim level.  The main difference between the two is the top speeds: 45 km/hr (28 mph) and 80 km/hr (50 mph).

Part of the reason for the two models was two distinct classifications.

The Urban 45 being a "light quadricycle" and the Urban 8 a "heavy quadricycle", as such the Urban 45 (from  €6,990 ), was more easily accessed by the youths of Europe.

Now thanks to the European Union's harmonization of driving licenses, which concerns these "light quadricycles" which are limited to a 4 kW engine, teenagers as young as 14 in France, Italy or Spain can get behind the wheel of a new Twizy.

Kids these days have it rough.
