Audi Q7 e-tron
The Audi Q7 e-tron plug-in hybrid presented in Geneva is equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel and eight-speed tiptronic automatic transmission.
As it turns out, such a configuration is scheduled only for Europe, while the US and China will get an Audi Q7 e-tron with a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine.
Audi development boss Ulrich Hackenberg stated:
"We have a modular system that allows us to react to the different needs of the world."
“In the U.S. we are having success with diesel cars. We are analyzing the market so maybe we will also have a diesel hybrid.”
The second plug-in hybrid from Audi after the A3 e-tron will go on sale in Germany in Spring of 2016. Launch timing for other markets wasn't disclosed.
All-electric range on its 17.3 kWh battery is up to 34.8 miles (56 km).
