In a press release on Porsche's worldwide sales for November comes this bt of depressing news: Porsche 918 Spyder is sold out.

In addition, mid-November saw the sale of the last of the 918 Spyder hybrid super sports cars. This was a limited run of 918 models. The majority of the cars – 297 – will be shipped from the Zuffenhausen manufactory to buyers in the USA. And in both Germany and China there are around 100 proud new owners of the super sports car.

The million-ish dollar 918 Spyder represents perhaps the pinnacle of plug-in hybrid performance.  It's a force to be reckoned with:

  • Goes from 0 to 62 MPH in 2.5 seconds (0 to 62 in 6.1 seconds in electric-only mode)
  • Hits 214 MPH
  • Zips from 0 to 120 MPH in 7.2 seconds
  • Puts out 875 HP and 944 pound-feet of torque
So far, Porsche has delivered just over 100 918 Spyders globally, but all of the 918s that will trickle off the line in the coming months have been sold

Production of the 918 Spyder began in Fall of 2013.

The 918 Spyder starts at $847,975.  Deposits of $200,000 were required.
