Autocar has now extensively driven the BMW i8. The verdict? Well, like nearly every BMW i8 review we've come across so far, Autocar is mostly in love with the i8:
"The BMW i8, a car that has more depth and range to its dynamic abilities than almost any other car in history."
Autocar rambles on and on with words of praise for the i8 before diving into some negatives:
"...once you’ve squeezed your way into its cabin via one of its dihedral doors across a sill that is frankly too high, and too wide."
"The steering is maybe a touch light and definitely a fair bit lacking in feel..."
And the boot is also somewhat pathetic while the entry/egress routine is, as already intimated, surprisingly awkward.
Then it's back to the positives:
"It’s also great to travel in, borderline spectacular to drive on most roads and, as a result, is a machine that car enthusiasts will surely find as fascinating as it gets at this kind of money."
"...the i8 really does represent a carte blanche moment in the history of the sports car. As BMW says, you can have your cake and eat it with this car. And for once the marketing claim is absolutely spot on."
Does there exist a negative review of the BMW i8? If so, we've yet to come across it.
