Tesla Giga Factory
"Nevada officials have refused to detail what they know of Tesla's plans, if any, for building the gigafactory in this state."
States the Reno-Gazette Journal.
As we reported last week, there seemed to be some evidence that Tesla was breaking ground on its battery giga factory at Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center in Storey County, Nevada.
However, it now seems that work at the site has come to a halt, according to the Reno-Gazette Journal:
A "clear and grub" permit was pulled in May in Storey County for an unnamed project at 2641 Portofino Drive.
On Friday, TRIC developer Lance Gilman said he is bound by nondisclosure agreements not to identify the work going on, but he confirmed reports the grading work has been halted.
"They have moved more than 3 million cubic yards of dirt. The pad is 85 percent complete. It may well be they have reached a transition point and will go into a second phase. There will be more to come next week."
Actually, we hope Tesla reveals more details on the battery giga factory this Thursday when it reports its 2nd quarter earnings.
