This Summer (August, to be exact), Malaysia will kick off its first-ever electric car sharing program in the Klang Valley area, which includes Kuala Lumpur (capital of Malaysia).

Per the press release:

"The CMS Consortium Sdn Bhd will roll out the EV car sharing initiative called a “Cohesive Mobility Solution (COMOS)” with about 30 to 40 electric vehicles to be placed in selected hot spots in the Klang Valley."

"A private-public partnership including the CMS Consortium, the Malaysia Automotive Institute and the Malaysian Green Technology Corporation will offer COMOS as a complete e-mobility service."

The electric vehicles that will be utilized in the car sharing program inclue the Renault Zoe and Renault Twizy, as well as other EVs.

COMOS Executive Chairman Datuk Seri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamad Tahir (title holder for longest name ever), stated that the end goal is to have 3,500 electric vehicles in the car sharing program nationwide by 2020.

After the initial launch this August, other areas of Malaysia will see the car sharing program too starting in November.
