Never More Than 20 Minutes From a Charger
Connecticut has a charger goal in mind: never more than 20 minutes away from a public charging station.
That's right. Connecticut is now home to 105 public charging stations, with 50 more to be installed by the end of 2014. When those 50 go in the ground, Macky McCleary, Deputy Commissioner of DEEP, says:
"An electric vehicle owner will be able to drive no more than 20 minutes in Connecticut and find a charging station."
20 minutes away, according to McCleary, means 15 miles or less.
If all 50 states put a similar plan in place, then we'd be all set for the EV takeover to occur.
