Prius Plug-In Hybrid Perfect for 42% of Americans
Recently, the Union of Concerned Scientists and Consumers Union (aka Consumer Reports) teamed up to conduct a survey of 914 adults in what's claimed to be a "nationally representative telephone sample."
42% of Americans Would Find That the Honda Accord PHEV Meet Their Needs
The result was that 42% of those surveyed fit "within all the parameters necessary to use a plug-in hybrid vehicle for their transportation needs with few, if any, changes in behavior," according to Consumer Reports.
Out of that 42%, 60% "met the criteria to make a pure battery-electric car practical for them," says Consumer Reports.
The full results of the survey are so extensive that we won't bother trying to summarize them here (what a tremendous waste of time that would be when the Union of Concerned Scientists put together a handy PDF with all the info).
Rather, we'll refer you to this PDF link where all the findings are detailed.
Oh, the fancy infographic you see below is part of the survey results, too.
