It's too bad that the BMW i8 is sold out for 2014 (in theory anyway) and that it won't be available in the US until perhaps 2015 now.

Why's it bad?

Well, because it becomes extremely unlikely that we'll see i8s out on public roads in the US in the near future.

For those who haven't seen the ins (interior) and outs (exterior) of the i8 up close, here's your chance.

As the i8 makes its auto show rounds, showgoers will get a chance to catch a glimpse of it.  But after the US auto shows end, the i8 says goodbye to the US for a good long time.

So, check it out while you still can.
