The BMW i3 is expected to have an all electric range of around 85-90 miles in the United States when it is rated by the EPA.

Thankfully BMW is not giving out any ridiculous JC-08 Japanese range expectations (an example of which would be the 2013 Nissan LEAF is rated at 141 miles in Japan), but is touting some more realistic figures, consistent with European press releases:

"On a single charge, the i3 can travel up to 160km (99 miles) from about 130km (80 miles). And approximately up to 200km (124 miles) to extend the range from 180km (112 miles) in (the most efficient mode)"  -  translated from Japanese

Of special interest is the fact that the i3 will not be offered with the new CCS (Combo) fast charging system in Japan that BMW has publically backed elsewhere in the world; but rather the "opposition's" CHAdeMO standard - although considering the huge market dominance of CHAdeMO in Japan, it is not a totally unexpected decision.

"...BMW i3 adopts Japan specification CHAdeMO method.  The use of fast charge, it is possible to charge 80% in about 30 minutes.  If ordinary charge in home or work for normal use, and a full charge in about 8 hours." - translated from Japanese

BMW is now accepting orders on both cars in Japan, and the first i3 will be delivered on April 5th, 2014, with the i8 scheduled to arrive in the summer of 2014.
