Tesla Roadster 2.5 Barely Beats Model S in 0 to 60 MPH Dash
All Tesla vehicles are quick, but which one is the quickest?
In the dash from 0 to 60 miles per hour, only one Tesla can be on top and it's not the one most would expect.
Yes, the P85 Model S goes like stink, but the "old dog" still takes the o to 60 mph crown.
The 2011 Tesla Roadster 2.5 still retains its bragging right as being the quickest 0 to 60 mph Tesla ever made.
At 3.7 seconds (quickest published time in documented real-world test runs) to 60, the Roadster 2.5 narrowly beats the P85 Model S by two tenths of a second.
Sure, we're splitting hairs here, but in all the Model S hoopla we hear these days, we should not overlook the fact that the Roadster was and, still is, a spectacular electric machine.
The burning question for us is whether or not the 2nd generation Roadster will break into the 2s in the 0 to 60 mph dash. We almost think that should be a Tesla goal with the next-gen Roadster. A sub 3-second, mass produced electric. Are we asking for too much?
