Traffic in Areas of Brazil is Awful...Bring on the Plug-Ins
In Research and Markets' latest report, titled "Strategic Analysis of Brazil Electric Vehicle Market - Era of Electric Vehicles in Brazil, With Market Growing to More than 80,000 Units by 2020" a few predictors can be found.
For example (and as the title of the report says), electric vehicles sales are expected to reach 80,000 units annually in 2020.
However, in Brazil, electric vehicles won't all be of the type that are now present here in the US. The Brazilian electric vehicle market will likely be dominated by scooter, motorcycles and trikes, though electric passenger vehicles will be present.
It's believed that Brazil's plug-in vehicle market will slowly grow in almost direct correlation to the public charging infrastructure. What this means is that as more public chargers come online, more plug-ins will be sold. The growth will be slow though, as Research and Markets doesn't predict an immediate boom.
But still, 80,000 is a decent figure, even if it'll take 7 years to get there.
