2013 Nissan LEAF Enjoys A Few Extra Months

2013 Nissan LEAF Enjoys A Few Extra Months "In The Sun"

Yesterday, we dutifully reported that the new 2014 Nissan LEAF would be arriving at a dealership near you this October (that is provided you are in the United States...and probably inside California's cozy, EV-friendly borders) via a Nissan media press release.

Apparently, Nissan has thought better of that estimate, and has stealthfully altered said press release to now state that the 2014 Nissan LEAF will be "Available December 2013".

This new timetable makes more sense to us here at Inside EVs, as we were left scratching our head after our guy in Smyrna had told us that production on the 2014 model year LEAF was not set to begin until at least September of this year.

Anyway, we just thought you should know.

Here are the new details on the 2014 Nissan LEAF, which due to a very short 2013 production schedule, has been left mostly unchanged.

  • RearView Monitor becomes standard on all grades (previously part of the Charge Package)
  • Updated EV-IT functionality with voice destination entry and SMS readout
  • Still Offered in S, SV and SL models
Most importantly (at least to most), Nissan has not yet announcing the pricing on the 2014 edition.  When it happens, we will let you know.

...then let you know again the next day if it changes.
