Automotive media and marketing services company Autobytel says most Americans seek out that "cheap" automobile.

Cheap here means cheap to maintain, cheap to own, cheap to operate and cheap to fuel.

As it turns out, the Nissan LEAF fits into all of those "cheap" categories and that's why Autobytel lists its among the 10 "Best Cheap New Cars of 2013."

Here's what Autobytel has to say of the 2013 Nissan LEAF. which landed in 8th place on the list of 10:

8) Nissan LEAF- $28,800

"For those who want to go ultra clean, the 2013 Nissan Leaf is an electric car that can fulfill your needs. The $28k price tag is undercut by a $7500 Federal Tax Credit that helps make the LEAF one of the best cheap cars for 2013. The LEAF is a great riding vehicle and you will never have to stop at a gas station."
