Some surveys are EV+. Others, not so much. This one gets grouped into that later category.
2014 Chevy Spark EV...Cost is Really a Non-Issue When You Can Lease One for Only $199 Per Month
According to a survey conducted by AAA, 30 percents of driving-age individuals would not buy an electric vehicle due to range limitations.
An additional 26 percent stated that electric vehicle cost deters them from purchasing one.
And 8 out of 10 surveyed stated that they'd prefer to drive off a dealership's lot with a gas vehicle rather than one that plugs in.
So, negatives all around for this survey, but there's still some hope. AAA conducted the survey to gain some knowledge into the topic of electric vehicles. AAA used this knowledge to add specific EV content to its website to inform potential buyers of the benefits of electric vehicles. AAA Spokeswoman Bevi Powell says this:
“We want to make them aware of what’s available to them as far as charging stations and any questions they have. It’s important that they have good and sound resources to answer those questions. We’re endorsing it as an alternative because a lot of people have different preferences, and this is just another option that is out there."
The revised website now shows the price difference between charging an electric vehicles and filling up a gas one. It further shows how EVs are better for the environment and outlines some additional plug-in benefits. So, there's positive coming from the surveyed negatives.
