The powers that be in the Bluegrass State are showing some love for the Chevy Volt.
Steve Beshear, Governor of Kentucky, along with First Lady Jane Beshear, announced in a ceremony that 4 Chevy Volts were added to the state's fleet of vehicles.
The Volts will be used on a daily basis by state workers, most likely those working the Kentucky's Department for Environmental Protection.
Adding only 4 Volts to the fleet is just a stepping stone towards the Governor's goal of improving the state's fleet-wide fuel economy by 30% by 2015 and an impressive 50% by 2025.
The vehicles, along with an undisclosed amount of charging stations, were purchased with grant funding provided by the Kentucky Clean Fuels Coalition.
Two additional Volts are on order in the state of Kentucky. Those vehicles, order by the state's Division of Fleet Management, will be used for postal delivery purposes in the state's capital city of Frankfort.
