2013 Nissan LEAF Recall Notice Issued by NHTSA
Straight from the safety gurus at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the investigative team at Nissan comes word of a recall that affects a yet-to-be determined amount of Model Year 2013 Nissan LEAFS. Not the greatest start for US-made LEAFS.

The issue is air bag related, but tied to the strain gauge sensor located in the LEAF's passenger seat.
Damaged sensors in affected units could lead to a no-deployment situation in the event of a crash. Fortunately, both a red and an amber light will illuminate to warn passengers and drivers of a fault. If either of these lights illuminate, owners should seek out the nearest Nissan dealership for repairs.
Official recall notices will be mailed to owners of affected Nissan LEAFs in "early April."
Again, we stress that Nissan has not yet determined the amount of units affected by this recall and urge owners with illuminated air-bag warning lights to head to the nearest Nissan dealership for immediate repair.
