BMW says that the new i3 Concept Coupé is a "study for sustainable premium-class motoring with zero local emissions." We would suggest that the amount of finish and work promoting the 3-door car by BMW makes it a likely candidate to make the jump from concept to production after the standard 5-door goes into production late next year.
Against the production i3, the Coupe Concept has restyled doors, a new rear end, and a tweaked front fascia that gives it a more aggressive look.
Inside, the dash still sports a more "concept" new-futuristic design, and the rear features a "lounge-like" atmosphere.
The BMW i3 Coupe Concept is powered by a 125 kW engine (170 HP), that puts out 184 lb-ft of torque. Range is promoted by BMW as up to 160 km (100 miles), and can be re-charged 80% of the way in under 30 minutes through a fast charging "option."
Again, why would a "study" vehicle have an option if it was not to be made available to the public at some point?

"The BMW i3 Concept Coupe design emphasizes dynamism and sheer driving pleasure. Inside, backseat passengers will experience a generous sense of space – perhaps unusual for a coupe – as the vehicle's interior offers lounge-like atmosphere and enlarged windows that enhance every passenger's driving experience."
