Napa Valley Gets Latest Donated CHAdeMO Charger From Nissan; Charging is Free
Nissan choose the Napa River Inn in Napa Valley as the site most worthy of its latest freebie/donated CHAdeMO quick charger.
The unit, which is claimed to cost $40,000, was given to Napa River Inn because “Nissan was looking for a central location in the Napa Valley to put their fast charger unit.”
Napa River Inn actually just installed 3 chargers, with one being CHAdeMO and the others multi-port Level 2 units.
Even with Nissan’s donated unit, the entire project still cost the Napa River Inn between $30,000 and $40,000.
Prior to the install of these units, the Napa River Inn ran extension cords from the building out to the parking lot to charge plug-in vehicles.
Napa Valley is now home to 13 public chargers, according to the Napa Valley Register.
Oddly, Napa River Inn says that the CHAdeMO charger will be free to use, while the Level 2 units will have a nominal hourly rate.
