Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV didn’t have a strong month in August in Japan as just 457 were delivered, which is one of the lowest numbers ever for the plug-in SUV.

With 148 all-electric MiEVs added in, total Mitsubishi plug-in sales in Japan amounted to 605 units in August.

In total, Mitsubishi delivered 6,910 plug-in hybrids and 1,299 all-electric cars in Japan in the first eight months of 2014.

It could be interesting to look at how this compares with Nissan LEAF sales – much more stable in recent years.

Nissan sold 912 in August and 9,121 in the first eight months of 2014.

Sadly, we are still missing Toyota Prius Plug-in data for Japan, but we will hunt that down sooner or later.
