Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Second Best Selling Plug-In In France In September

September was a record month for all-electric car sales in France as almost 2,000 were registered.

Now, we see that plug-in hybrids, thanks to Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, fared well too.

On the graph, we see 410 gasoline-electric plug-in hybrids and 11 diesel-electric plug-in hybrids registered in France in September.

Outlander PHEV surged to 393 last month.

For comparison, Renault ZOE had 914 registrations and Nissan LEAF 297.

Both top sellers (Zoe and Outlander) get great reviews and would sell in high numbers if production is ramped up and they are available in more markets.

What was Ford thinking when they dropped the Escape PHEV? They had that in testing more than 5 years ago, but instead came out with the energi versons of Fusion and C-Max. They could easily have taken the SUV PHEV market before Mitsu. Lost opportunity there.
