With November numbers in, we can safely say that Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV sales in Japan now cumulatively exceed 30,000.

An additional 814 sold in November, which was enough to already set a new record for the year (at 10,478 YTD) with still one month of sales reporting to go.

The Okazaki Plant in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan can produce at least 50,000 Outlander PHEV annually.

With over 10,000 for Japan, and probably 25,000-30,000 for Europe, there should be capacity to supply 10,000 to the U.S. and Canada, right?

We’re thinking that to satisfy U.S. demand (provided does actually arrive in the 2nd half of 2016), that Mitsubishi will need to expand production capacity.

The popularity of the vehicle will probably further delay its introduction to the U.S.

Seems Mitsubishi is hesitant to sell this Outlander PHEV in USA given its smaller dealer network.

But then why are they selling MIEV which has sold only 4 units in Nov and 106 units in YTD-2015.

They should pull out this model which has completed 6 years (7 if include the lease time in 2009) and focus on introducing Outlander PHEV with more ads.

I’m sure the Outlander PHEV will never come to the us/canada. I stop beliving it.

Any idea what the pricing will be in the US?

Looking at $35k, $40k, $45k, $50k?

I recall Mits wanted to keep the PHEV close to the diesel version.
