Mitsubishi GR-HEV Plug-In Hybrid Truck Breaks Cover Ahead of Geneva Debut

Scheduled for its official debut tomorrow at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show is this plug-in hybrid gem: the Mitsubishi GR-HEV Concept.

It’s essentially a swoopy, stylized pickup truck with plug-in gear added to offset the efficiency lost by choosing a truck.

Mitsubishi is tight-lipped on the GR-HEV, at least until it officially debuts tomorrow, but here’s the tiny bit of information we do know:

  • The GR-HEV is a “Super Select” 4WD, diesel-hybrid plug-in pickup truck.
  • Mitsubishi claims that the GR-HEV’s “clean diesel engine with a high-output motor and battery system achieves on-road CO2 emission levels of below 149 g/km to give it environmental performance among the best in its class.”
  • The Japanese automaker describes the GR-HEV as “sporty
  • The GR-HEV features Mitsubishi’ “Super All Wheel Control system.”

Oh.  We almost forgot.  The GR-HEV is purely a concept.  At least for now.
