Midnight Runner Café Racer With Energica EVA Skeleton and Heart

9 months ago by Mark Kane 9

Italian Apache Custom Motorcycles unveiled earlier this month a rather quaint café racer.

The Midnight Runner is based on the Energica EVA, but the design is now more aerodynamic eye-catching…or perhaps not.

Energica EVA specs includes a sizeable 11.7 kWh battery, good for 200 km / 124 miles of range, and a 70 kW/170 Nm electric motor.

We are not sure whether Midnight Runner will prevail down the path of the electric café racer, but it’s still refreshing to see some cool one-off projects from time to time.

  1. Someone out there says:

Why is advertising so bad nowadays? I don’t want to see some guy welding, I want to see the bike and what it can do. Specs and stuff like that, not a ton of fluff that has nothing to do with it!

  2. DJ says:

Wow, and you guys thought the Bolt looked ugly…

    1. ashveratu says:

Agreed, this Midnight Runner has to be the most horrid looking motorcycle I’ve seen, like someone went back to an 80’s junkyard and threw a bunch parts together in a hurry.

  3. Morphius says:

Real men are ugly, so are proper cars, bikes, snowboards, airplanes,… 🙂

  4. Steven says:

Well that was a whole lot of no information.

  5. John says:

    I’ll take mine in black….
    Wait….no I won’t….

    Kill it!
    Kill it with fire!

  6. Warren says:

It looks like a perfectly normal cafe racer from my youth, except for the two hideous square headlights stuck on the front of an otherwise sweet fairing.

  7. wavelet says:

This is, bar none, the most ugly café racer I’ve ever seen. It’s probably the most ugly vehicle I’ve ever seen, period.

I don’t believe for a second it was designed by Italians, and predict none will be sold.

  8. Jason says:

It reportedly has 11kwh battery. My Leaf has 24kwh battery and weighs 250kg, takes up all the space between the front and back seat. If this is really 11kwh, then it is very exciting to see how much battery technology has come along for it to be <125kg and in such a small space as a motor bike, otherwise this must be one very heavy bike!
